After my recent post about how bad my handwriting is, I thought I’d offer up an inside glimpse of a few examples of how awful it is by showing you my sketchbook, from which Break of Day and other comics are conceived.

I’m not much of a sketcher. Most of my thoughts end up as scribbles, and somehow I’m able to pull a comic out of these scribbles. A lot of time, I’ll look at my notebook and have no clue what I was trying to write or say. I’m guessing probably some of my best cartoons are victims of this, and never make it onto the drawing board.
